Overtime on the Boehner Plan

We are now 4 1/2 hours into overtime on the vote for the Boehner plan (and that excludes the fact that the vote originally expected yestrday got delayed, conveniently, by the CBO scoring). And now the rumors are that the bill will be pulled and tweaked to win some votes. Since we know the bill is dead, the exercise has become all about showing clout and demonstrating to the public that they are willing to compromise. At this point, win or lose on the actual vote, hasn't Boehner lost on the issue?
